Texas Township PA

History of the
Texas Township Website

About five years ago, (on Jan. 21, 2008) residents requested that Texas Township Supervisors set up a website with information regarding the township Agenda, Minutes and Ordinances (laws). 396 residents (99% of those asked) signed a petition in support. Texas Township's Planning Board recommended moving forward with a website also. Yet at the December 7, 2009 township meeting, Supervisors McDonald, Doney and Wickle voted no without a reason. Township residents feel so strongly about a need for open, transparent government and a citizens' right to know, that they have committed time and money to provide this information 24/7 as a public service. (Refer to the "MINUTES" page for issues that citizens would like addressed).

Who We Are

This website was created and paid for by citizens of Texas Township, Pa. as a public service. Sources of Township Minutes and Ordinances are from the township secretary and zoning officer respectively. These documents are in the public domain and by making them available, we ensure some of democracy's great freedoms. Although every effort is made to assure accuracy, the information herein is presented without warranty as to its accuracy, timeliness or completeness.
